Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic professional to join our Corporate Strategy team as a Manager / VP, Corporate Strategy. This pivotal role, based in Johor, will report directly to the Head of Corporate Strategy and be responsible for developing and executing the company’s long-term strategic plans. You will lead cross-functional initiatives, perform in-depth financial and market analysis, and drive critical business decisions in alignment with our corporate objectives. This role is ideal for an individual with strong expertise in financial modeling, investment analysis, M&A processes, and strategy development.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Lead the development and execution of long-term corporate strategies, ensuring alignment with the organization’s overarching goals, vision, and market trends.
- Collaborate with senior management and other business leaders to shape the company’s strategic direction and key initiatives.
- Manage and drive strategic projects from inception to completion, including overseeing timelines, resource allocation, and ensuring successful delivery.
Financial Analysis & Modeling:
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including the preparation of financial models, investment return calculations, and sensitivity analysis to assess strategic options and investments.
- Lead in-depth financial reviews and provide actionable insights to senior leadership based on key metrics and KPIs.
- Perform rigorous financial forecasting and budgeting for strategic projects, ensuring that financial risks are well understood and managed.
Investment & M&A Strategy:
- Lead investment analysis and M&A processes, including due diligence, financial evaluations, and investment return assessments.
- Support the identification, evaluation, and execution of potential mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships.
- Provide strategic insights to the Board and senior leadership on market opportunities, competitive dynamics, and investment decisions.
Cross-functional Leadership:
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams across various business units to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
- Foster collaboration and communication across departments to ensure that strategic goals are understood and met.
- Monitor project performance and provide guidance to teams to ensure that strategic objectives are achieved within set timelines and budgets.
Stakeholder Management & Communication:
- Prepare and present strategic plans, findings, and recommendations to senior management, the Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication of complex business strategies to diverse audiences, tailoring messages to different stakeholders’ needs.
- Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities related to strategic initiatives.
Risk Management & Problem Solving:
- Identify key strategic risks, develop mitigation strategies, and lead efforts to address challenges.
- Utilize strong problem-solving skills to identify opportunities for growth, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Financial Expertise:
- Strong understanding of financial statements and advanced financial modeling techniques.
- Proven ability to perform investment returns analysis, sensitivity analysis, and valuation assessments in the context of corporate strategy and M&A activities.
Strategic Leadership:
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects and initiatives from inception to completion.
- Experience in developing and executing long-term strategic plans aligned with organizational goals and market dynamics.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
- Exceptional analytical skills to identify key business opportunities, risks, and develop actionable strategies.
- Ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Project & Budget Management:
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.

Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA or other advanced qualifications are preferred.
Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, investment banking, or a related field with a strong background in financial analysis, M&A, and strategic planning.
- Prior experience in a leadership role, with a proven track record of managing complex projects and delivering strategic objectives.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and analysis.
- Familiarity with financial tools and software for financial modeling and reporting.
Language Skills:
- Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin is a plus.
