Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Treasury Manager to join our team at a leading public listed real estate developer in Malaysia. The Treasury Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company’s treasury functions, including liquidity management, debt financing, cash flow forecasting, and risk management. This role is critical in ensuring the company’s financial stability and supporting its growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Liquidity & Cash Flow Management
- Monitor the company’s liquidity position and manage daily cash flow activities to ensure optimal cash levels.
- Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs and capital projects.
- Oversee cash management operations, including managing bank accounts, fund transfers, and cash investments.
Debt & Capital Management
- Manage the company’s debt portfolio, ensuring timely debt servicing and compliance with loan covenants.
- Coordinate with financial institutions for the negotiation and arrangement of new credit facilities or refinancing existing debt.
- Monitor interest rates and manage interest rate exposure through appropriate hedging strategies, where applicable.
- Support capital raising initiatives, including bonds or sukuk issuance, to finance development projects.
Investment & Risk Management
- Oversee the company’s investment of surplus cash, ensuring compliance with approved policies and maximizing returns on investments.
- Identify and manage financial risks, including currency, interest rate, and credit risk exposures.
- Implement appropriate hedging strategies to mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with treasury policies.
Banking Relationships
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions, negotiating favorable terms for banking services, loans, and credit facilities.
- Maintain and review all banking agreements and services, ensuring they align with the company’s financial goals.
- Act as the main point of contact for banking partners and financial advisors, coordinating any required treasury-related services.
Treasury Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and present regular treasury reports, including cash flow forecasts, debt maturity profiles, and liquidity analysis, to senior management and the Board.
- Ensure all treasury activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies, particularly for a public listed company.
- Oversee compliance with Bursa Malaysia listing requirements, including disclosure and reporting obligations related to treasury functions.
- Conduct internal reviews of treasury operations and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and control.
Treasury Systems & Automation
- Manage the company’s treasury management systems, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of treasury transactions.
- Lead efforts to implement new technology or improve existing systems to enhance treasury operations and reporting.
- Collaborate with the finance and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of treasury systems with overall financial reporting systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CTP, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in treasury management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, ideally within the real estate or property development sector.
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments, debt markets, and liquidity management strategies.
- Experience working in a public listed company, with a deep understanding of compliance requirements and corporate governance standards.
- Proficiency in treasury management systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships with financial institutions and internal stakeholders.
