As a Software Engineering Manager at the R&D department, you will lead the development of next-generation products and technologies. Reporting to the R&D Director, your initial focus will be on the Backend Platform, covering microservice frameworks (Java & Python), data platforms (OLTP/OLAP), CI/CD, test automation, monitoring, Docker, Kubernetes, and AI/ML infrastructure for eKYC, credit scoring, and fraud detection. Your team’s work will modernize the company’s tech stack, enhance efficiency, and integrate modern standards across new and legacy applications.

Leadership & Collaboration

Aligns team goals with high-level company objectives and provides feedback to senior management on organizational strategies.
Communicates company-wide priorities effectively across teams and ensures alignment with team activities.

Team Execution

Acts as Project Manager and Product Owner in the absence of dedicated roles, ensuring high-quality delivery and prioritization of work.
Oversees technical designs, project plans, and adherence to best practices, creating long-term strategic roadmaps with team leads.

People Management & Growth

Monitors team performance, conducts regular appraisals, addresses performance gaps, and proposes role changes or promotions.
Focuses on team member growth, providing coaching, feedback, and career development while fostering a positive team environment.

Recruiting & Hiring

Develops detailed hiring plans, streamlines interview processes, and trains interviewers to ensure efficient and effective recruitment.

requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
Over 7 years of experience in software engineering, including 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
Preferred background includes a combination of experience in multinational corporations (MNCs) and local companies.
Bonus points for experience in fast-paced small to medium-sized companies or startups.
Familiarity with fintech, banking, or AI sectors is advantageous.
Proficient in programming with Java or Python (Java is preferred).
Well-versed in modern technology stacks with expertise in several components, ideally including:
- At least 1 year of experience in releasing software products within a CI/CD framework.
- At least 1 year of experience working with cloud-based services.
