about the job
- Lead the overall planning, design, and implementation of construction and property development activities from pre-development to post-development stages, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and time standard.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new projects and recommend strategies for optimal project outcomes.
- Manage, monitor, and control project progress to ensure smooth execution and timely completion within approved budgets and schedules.
- Attend site meetings and maintain close collaboration with key stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, architects, engineers, suppliers, and government authorities, to address project requirements and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Oversee the development of mock-ups, fit-out works, and related construction activities to meet sales launch deadlines.
- Implement quality control and inspection processes throughout the project cycle, including final inspections, handovers, and defect rectification during the Defect Liability Period (DLP).
- Prepare regular project status reports, highlighting key milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Maintain effective documentation and records related to project progress, including daily work logs, labour, machinery usage, and site conditions.
skills and experience required
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the property development industry. (Assistant General Manager position requires over 10 years in construction or design of civil engineering projects).
- Proven expertise in feasibility studies, design development, and comprehensive project management.
- Mandatory high proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin (both written and spoken).
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficient in construction standard operating procedures, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and Auto-CAD.
- Resourceful, results-oriented, independent, and able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
- Experience liaising effectively with authorities, consultants, and contractors.
