As a key finance support provider for APAC entities in Singapore, you will ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, SOX regulations, and tax reporting requirements for both direct and indirect taxes. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Accounting & Reporting APAC, your role involves executing month-end general ledger (GL) closing activities, preparing profit and loss (P&L) and balance sheet variance analyses, and evaluating actual financial results against budgets, forecasts, and historical trends. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with business partners and Group Finance while contributing to system and process improvements as part of finance transformation initiatives to enhance the quality of accounting services.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the annual statutory audit process, working with external and internal auditors to prepare draft financial statements and disclosure notes for audit and statutory filing.
- Perform month-end closing tasks, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayment recognition for assigned APAC countries.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in adherence to SOX and local GAAP, supporting monthly management reporting and quarterly/annual group reporting.
- Prepare and analyze monthly account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain and manage the fixed assets register, ensuring compliance with company capitalization policies and local tax regulations.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process and ongoing budgetary control.
- Compute corporate taxes for year-end close and liaise with tax agents for timely income tax return submissions.
- Prepare statutory accounts and coordinate with auditors for audit requirements.
- Reconcile and submit indirect tax filings such as GST, FBT, and WHT to local tax authorities.
- Support responses to government statistics surveys and assist with corporate initiatives and ad-hoc projects as needed.
- Undertake additional finance-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or ACCA qualification, with 5–8 years of relevant experience in financial accounting within a multinational corporation.
- Chartered Accountant certification and prior audit experience are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and SOX compliance.
- Exposure to Australian taxation is an advantage.
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and Macros); experience with Blackline and Hyperion is a plus.
