Job Description: Regional Finance Director – Healthcare (Southeast Asia)
Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Finance Director to join our leading healthcare business operating across Southeast Asia (SEA). The Regional Finance Director will play a critical leadership role in overseeing the financial strategy, planning, and management of our healthcare operations within the assigned region. This position reports directly to the Group CEO and is responsible for ensuring the financial health, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency of the business. The successful candidate will be highly visible within the organization and will need to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The role requires someone who is detail-oriented and hands-on, working closely with a small regional finance team spread across various locations throughout the SEA region. Occasional travel will be required to manage the teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy & Leadership:

Provide key financial insights and actionable recommendations to the board and shareholders to inform strategic decision-making.
Lead financial planning, forecasting, and risk management initiatives to enhance financial stability.
Identify opportunities for business expansion, investment, and long-term value creation.
2. Financial Management & Reporting:
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Prepare and present financial results, variances, and performance analysis to the board and shareholders, highlighting key insights and areas of improvement.
Monitor key financial metrics, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Ensure full compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
3. Budgeting & Cost Control:
Lead the development and management of the region's annual budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and financial sustainability.
Establish and implement financial controls that optimize expenditures and maximize operational efficiencies.
Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality and operational excellence.
4. Risk Management & Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to regional regulatory requirements, tax laws, and healthcare industry financial policies.
Develop and implement robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks, fraud, and compliance violations.
Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and tax authorities to ensure regulatory compliance.
5. Investment & Capital Management:
Assess the financial viability of expansion projects, acquisitions, and new service offerings within the region.
Manage capital allocation and funding strategies to ensure optimal financial leverage and resource utilization.
Engage with investors and financial institutions to secure necessary funding and drive business growth.
6. Business Partnering & Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate closely with operational and clinical teams to align financial goals with healthcare service delivery objectives.
Engage with shareholders, lenders, and regulatory bodies to provide transparency on financial matters and foster strong relationships.
Provide financial insights to support decision-making on market trends, industry benchmarks, and overall business performance.
7. Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop the regional finance team, ensuring a high-performing and collaborative environment.
Foster a culture of financial accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence within the finance department.
Implement best practices in financial management, systems, and processes to enhance overall team effectiveness.
Key Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in financial leadership roles, with at least 5 years of experience in the healthcare or health insurance industry.
Skills:
Strong expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.
In-depth knowledge of healthcare financial regulations, reimbursement models, and insurance frameworks.
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong eye for accuracy.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, within tight timelines, and across multiple regions.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of responsibility.
Competency in MS Office Applications, particularly Excel.
