- Lead engineering design, loss prevention, and project execution across all phases, ensuring quality control, resource efficiency, and adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Oversee fire protection and gas detection engineering, including fire safety philosophies, hydraulic calculations, detection layouts, risk analysis, and passive fire protection strategies.
- Review and manage HSE studies and third-party consultant deliverables, covering areas like HAZID, HAZOP, QRA, gas dispersion, alarm rationalization, and mechanical integrity.
- Approve site testing and pre-commissioning procedures, coordinate with subcontractors, and provide technical support for BOMBA submissions, approvals, and inspections.
- Oversee recruitment, staff performance evaluations, training plans, timesheet management, and overall department operations.
skills & experience
- A degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering design for Fire Protection Systems, Fire & Gas Detection Systems, and Design HSE/Process Safety studies within the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries, particularly for major oil companies.
- Extensive knowledge of local and international design codes related to Fire Fighting Systems and Design HSE studies.
- Strong leadership and managerial abilities with experience in team coordination.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, negotiation, and report-writing skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
- Professional Engineer (Ir.) and/or Professional Technologist (Ts.) registration is an advantage.
