We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Manager for Investor Relations & Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) to join our leadership team at a leading public-listed FMCG company in Malaysia. This dual-focused role combines the strategic responsibilities of managing investor relations with executing M&A activities. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a solid financial background, and experience in both investor relations and the M&A process, ideally within the FMCG or corporate sector. The role involves engaging with investors, managing external communications, conducting market and financial analysis, and driving M&A strategies to support corporate growth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Investor Relations:

   • Manage day-to-day investor relations activities, including maintaining and enhancing relationships with institutional and retail investors, analysts, and other stakeholders.
   • Develop and execute the investor relations strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and enhancing the company’s market profile.
   • Prepare quarterly and annual reports, investor presentations, earnings releases, and other shareholder communications to ensure transparency and timely dissemination of financial and strategic information.
   • Serve as the main point of contact for investor inquiries, addressing concerns and providing detailed information on the company’s performance, strategy, and outlook.
   • Organize and manage investor events, including earnings calls, annual general meetings (AGMs), roadshows, and investor conferences.
   • Provide market insights and competitor analysis to senior management and the Board of Directors, ensuring effective communication of the company’s financial health and growth prospects.

2. Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):

   • Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of M&A opportunities, supporting the company’s strategic growth and expansion initiatives.
   • Conduct due diligence, financial modeling, valuation analysis, and market research to assess potential M&A targets, including competitive analysis and risk assessments.
   • Collaborate with senior leadership and external advisors (legal, financial, and other specialists) to execute M&A transactions efficiently and effectively.
   • Prepare investment memos, business cases, and financial presentations to support M&A decision-making processes and present to the executive team and Board.
   • Oversee the integration process post-acquisition, ensuring the alignment of operational, financial, and strategic goals for acquired companies.

3. Strategic Communication:

   • Develop and execute communications strategies related to M&A activities, ensuring consistent messaging to both internal and external stakeholders.
   • Work closely with senior management and the communications team to handle sensitive issues and maintain positive public relations during major corporate transactions.
   • Provide input on strategic messaging during the announcement of new initiatives, business performance, or significant corporate changes.

4. Financial Analysis & Reporting:

   • Perform in-depth financial analysis and valuation of potential M&A targets, identifying synergies, risks, and financial impact.
   • Contribute to the preparation of the company’s financial reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with investor relations strategies.
   • Track and report on the performance of any completed M&A deals and provide actionable insights to senior management.

5. Cross-functional Collaboration:

   • Work closely with the finance, legal, strategy, and operations teams to ensure successful execution of M&A transactions and seamless communication with investors.
   • Build strong relationships with external financial institutions, advisors, and stakeholders to facilitate successful M&A deals and investor engagement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, MBA) is highly desirable.

• Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in investor relations, financial analysis, and M&A within the corporate, FMCG, or similar industries.
  • Proven experience in managing investor communications, developing strategies, and interacting with institutional and retail investors.
  • Solid track record of involvement in the end-to-end M&A process, including deal sourcing, financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, and integration.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, corporate governance, and regulatory frameworks relevant to publicly listed companies.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, valuation methods (DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions), and financial analysis tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial software tools.
  • Familiarity with corporate governance, legal requirements, and regulations surrounding M&A activities and public company communications.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior management, investors, analysts, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to simplify complex financial and strategic information for diverse audiences, including both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
