The client is a leading provider of alternative legal and compliance services in Malaysia. They are looking for a Legal Counsel (Technology) to join on a one-year fixed term contract.

about the job

• Provide legal advice, reviewing, drafting, and negotiating Group technology and commercial contracts (including amendments and renewals) with vendors and third parties globally.
• Draft, review, and negotiate multi-country technology and commercial procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with Group standards and laws.
• Work closely with other Legal teams, including Business Legal teams.
• Support the Supply Chain Management team and Country Legal teams.
• Assess contract risks and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address them.
• Stay informed on policies, procedures, and laws.
• Provide timely, accurate updates on technology and commercial contract matters.
• Drive continuous improvements in contract processes, workflows, templates, and training.
• Coordinate with Group legal teams and manage external counsel engagements.
• Oversee team administration and ensure compliance with Group Contracts Policy and third-party risk management.

about the requirements

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B)
• At least 5 years PQE
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Capable of working independently
• Strong interpersonal skills, work ethic, and with high integrity.
