Job Purpose:
The Head of Internal Audit will operate as an independent and objective unit within the organization, providing assurance and advisory services to enhance the company’s operations and contribute to the achievement of its strategic goals. This role is responsible for leading systematic and objective assessments of risk management processes, overseeing the internal audit function, and evaluating governance processes to ensure their effectiveness and alignment with the group’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Audit Strategy and Planning:

- Ensure the audit activities are aligned with the group’s strategic goals, objectives, and key risk areas.
- Establish and monitor the progress of the audit plan and provide updates to the Audit Committee.
2. Risk Management:
- Identify and assess all aspects of risks within the organization, including operational, financial, and compliance risks.
- Proactively advise management on recommendations to mitigate identified risks, enhance internal controls, and improve overall operational efficiency.
3. Internal Controls:
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the company’s internal control framework.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular assessments of control weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.
4. Audit Execution:
- Lead and manage audit engagements, ensuring audits cover key financial, operational, and compliance areas.
- Supervise audit teams and ensure the timely completion of audits, identifying areas for improvement in business operations and controls.
- Oversee audit fieldwork, review audit findings, and validate conclusions drawn from audit reviews.
5. Reporting:
- Prepare and present detailed audit reports to senior management and the Audit Committee of the Board.
- Communicate audit findings, recommendations, and action plans to management, ensuring clear and actionable insights.
- Follow up on audit findings to ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
6. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with senior management to address audit findings, provide solutions, and implement improvements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and external auditors.
- Provide ongoing guidance and strategic advice on risk, governance, and control-related issues.
7. Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, mentor, and manage the internal audit staff to ensure high performance and continuous professional development.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the audit team and across the organization.
- Promote leadership skills within the team and encourage the development of future leaders in internal auditing.
8. Compliance and Ethics:
- Promote a culture of ethics, integrity, and accountability throughout the organization.
- Ensure adherence to professional internal audit standards (e.g., International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing - IIA Standards) and best practices.
- Monitor compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and corporate governance frameworks.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree (MBA) or higher qualification is desirable.
Certifications:
- Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in internal auditing, risk management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Experience in the property development or real estate industry is highly preferred.
- Proven track record in managing audits across multiple departments, functional areas, and operational processes.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of auditing standards, risk management frameworks, and internal control systems.
- Proficiency in audit software, data analytics tools, and ERP systems.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams to achieve high performance.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and a commitment to fostering transparency and accountability.
Reporting Structure:
- The Head of Internal Audit will report functionally to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and administratively to the CEO.
