This role is a senior individual contributor position, providing in-depth analysis, business partnering, and strategic financial insights to drive decision-making across the organization.
Role Overview:
The FP&A Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes within the company. This individual will work closely with senior leadership and various business units, ensuring financial objectives are met and performance is optimized across key retail and FMCG segments. The role will require advanced analytical skills, financial modeling expertise, and the ability to communicate complex financial insights effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning. Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with actionable insights to senior management.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze business performance (P&L, sales, margins, costs) across key product lines, regions, and channels. Proactively identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to optimize profitability.
- Business Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to various business units, offering strategic guidance on financial matters. Partner with sales, operations, marketing, and supply chain teams to drive financial performance and align with business goals.
- Variance Analysis: Lead the process of variance analysis between actual performance and budget/forecast, identifying key drivers and trends. Prepare presentations for senior management with clear, concise insights.
- Financial Modeling: Build and maintain complex financial models to evaluate business opportunities, investment projects, and cost-saving initiatives. Support decision-making on capital investments and new product launches.
- Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Ensure effective cash flow management and provide insights on working capital optimization. Work closely with Treasury and Operations to monitor and forecast cash flows.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, aligning with company policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Ad Hoc Analysis & Reporting: Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support senior leadership in decision-making, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in FP&A or related finance roles, preferably within retail, FMCG, or consumer goods industries. At least 2-3 years in a senior individual contributor position.
- Skills:
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budget management.
- Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, macros, etc.), and experience with ERP and BI tools (SAP, Hyperion, Oracle, etc.).
- Solid understanding of financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and key performance metrics for retail and FMCG businesses.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving strategic insights and business results.
