Our company is a leading retail brand with a strong presence across Southeast Asia. As we continue to expand and evolve, we are looking for an experienced and hands-on Finance Director to manage the full spectrum of financial operations. This role will oversee key financial functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), Consolidation, Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Treasury, and Tax. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in these areas, be comfortable managing a large team, and possess a proactive, “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude to execute tasks at a senior level.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Operations Management:
- Oversee and manage the company’s financial operations, ensuring smooth processing of AP, AR, GL, and consolidation activities.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, local GAAP).
- Oversee the consolidation of financial results across multiple subsidiaries and ensure the integrity of financial data across regions.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Provide detailed financial reports to senior management, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and other management reports.
- Lead the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for improving profitability and cost control.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making, business growth strategies, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to evaluate the financial health and performance of the business.
Treasury & Cash Management:
- Manage the company’s cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships, ensuring sufficient funds for operations and expansion.
- Oversee treasury activities, including cash forecasting, working capital management, and optimizing cash usage.
- Ensure effective management of foreign exchange (FX) exposure and hedging strategies for regional operations.
Tax Management:
- Oversee the company’s tax strategy, ensuring compliance with all local tax laws and regulations across Southeast Asia.
- Work with tax advisors and external consultants to manage tax planning, reporting, and audits.
- Ensure that the company takes full advantage of available tax incentives and manages tax risks effectively.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a collaborative, high-accountability work culture.
- Provide hands-on leadership, mentoring, and coaching to team members, ensuring their professional growth and development.
- Drive continuous improvements in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy across financial functions.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a key business partner to senior leadership, providing financial insights and advice to drive strategic decision-making.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., commercial, operations) to ensure financial and business objectives are met.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and other third-party service providers.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Ensure the implementation and monitoring of strong internal controls to safeguard the company’s financial assets.
- Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
