Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly strategic Finance Director to join a leading Private Equity firm operating across Southeast Asia. The Finance Director will play a key role in overseeing the firm’s financial operations across multiple countries, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting investment decisions. This individual will work closely with senior leadership to manage financial performance, investor relations, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the firm’s investment goals and regional expansion.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to drive value creation and profitability across portfolio companies.
- Lead regional financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Act as a financial partner to the investment team, offering strategic input during deal structuring and portfolio management.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including consolidated financial statements for the firm and its portfolio companies.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements across all countries of operation, including tax filings, audits, and statutory reporting.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal teams to manage audits, due diligence, and tax strategies.
- Maintain robust internal controls and ensure all financial processes adhere to corporate governance standards.
Investment Support & Portfolio Management
- Collaborate with the investment team to assess financial performance and risk across portfolio companies.
- Conduct financial due diligence on potential acquisitions and manage the financial integration of new investments.
- Provide financial oversight and guidance to portfolio companies, ensuring effective financial management and alignment with the firm’s objectives.
- Develop financial models to evaluate returns, cash flow, and key performance metrics across investments.
Investor Relations & Fund Management
- Support investor relations by preparing financial reports, presentations, and updates for stakeholders and limited partners.
- Manage capital calls, distributions, and financial reporting to investors.
- Oversee fund-level accounting and reporting, ensuring accurate tracking of fund performance and compliance with agreements.
- Assist in fundraising activities, including preparation of financial documents and engagement with potential investors.
Risk Management & Mitigation
- Identify and assess financial risks within the firm and across portfolio companies, developing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Ensure adherence to risk management policies, including credit risk, market risk, and operational risk across the region.
- Monitor regulatory changes in the countries where the firm operates and ensure compliance with evolving financial regulations.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor a regional finance team, promoting professional growth and development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
- Work with country finance teams to implement consistent financial practices across the region.
- Drive digital transformation and automation of financial processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
- 10+ years of experience in senior finance roles, preferably within the private equity, investment, or financial services sectors.
- Proven track record in regional finance leadership, ideally within Southeast Asia.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, including IFRS, and local statutory requirements across Southeast Asian countries.
- Experience in financial modeling, investment analysis, and portfolio management.
- Prior experience with private equity funds, investor relations, and fund management is a significant advantage.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate across diverse cultural and regulatory environments.
