This role leads and manages the process engineering team, overseeing all aspects of manufacturing assembly processes. The position focuses on optimizing production efficiency, driving continuous improvement in yield and quality, and collaborating with R&D and other departments to ensure seamless product development and manufacturing. The manager will define assembly procedures, conduct FMEAs, implement cost reduction strategies, and champion new technology adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Development and Optimization: Collaborate with R&D to design, develop, implement, and improve manufacturing systems, processes, and product assembly procedures. Define and document product assembly procedures and conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs).
- Resource Management: Plan, direct, and coordinate all process activities to maximize the effective utilization of personnel, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Project Management: Plan and execute process engineering projects, tracking performance against established goals and budgets.
- Cost Reduction: Develop and implement cost reduction proposals, analyzing data, making recommendations, and verifying achieved results.
- Change Management: Manage the implementation of product design changes through established processes and procedures.
- Equipment and Process Implementation: Identify, select, install, validate, train on, and implement new equipment and processes.
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Consult with new product development teams to provide expertise on manufacturing capabilities and address DFM, testability, and assembly considerations.
- Cost Estimation: Contribute to the preparation of new product cost estimates.
- Training and Knowledge Sharing: Define and deliver technical training to manufacturing associates on manufacturing techniques, methods, and processes. Stay current with new manufacturing technologies.
- Compliance and Continuous Improvement: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and objectives related to processes, initiatives, and projects. Lead continuous improvement projects focused on yield and quality enhancement.
- Quality and Customer Focus: Collaborate with the Quality team to address customer complaints and support customer visits.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and guide a team of process engineers to achieve company goals and objectives.
