Position Overview
The Deputy Branch Manager will assist the Branch Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the branch, driving business growth, and ensuring that the branch meets its targets. This role is critical to supporting both sales and operational functions, including customer acquisition, loan growth, deposits, and maintaining regulatory compliance. As a leader within the branch, the Deputy Branch Manager will foster a high-performance culture, promote teamwork, and ensure that customers receive exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Business Target Achievement
- Assist in achieving the branch’s business objectives, including soliciting new-to-bank customers and driving growth in loans, deposits, forex, CASA, internet banking, credit cards, and other banking products and services.
- Identify market opportunities and collaborate with the Branch Manager to develop and execute strategic business plans that contribute to achieving branch and bank-wide objectives.
Team Leadership and Development
- Promote teamwork and collaboration among branch staff to cross-sell the bank’s products and services, including liability products.
- Nurture branch staff by imparting best practices, market insights, and external factors that affect competitiveness.
- Track and monitor marketing activities to enhance staff productivity and overall branch performance.
Operational Oversight
- Approve relevant banking transactions within operating guidelines, regulatory controls, and compliance standards.
- Supervise the processing of credit facility proposals, ensuring alignment with credit guidelines and obtaining management approval for customer acceptance and loan implementation.
- Ensure operational efficiency by managing and optimizing branch processes and procedures.
Customer Relationship Management
- Act as a representative and figurehead for the branch in meetings with prospects and existing customers for official matters, events, or functions.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to enhance loyalty and maximize business opportunities.
Ad-hoc Responsibilities
- Undertake any additional tasks as required by Senior Management, including special projects and initiatives to improve branch operations.
Job Requirements
Education:
- At least a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, or a related field from a reputable university. A Master's degree is preferred.
Experience:
- At least 12 years of experience in branch operations, sales, and marketing within the banking sector.
- In-depth knowledge of banking rules, regulations, and industry guidelines.
- Proven experience in achieving business targets and managing a branch or sales team.
