Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented AVP Corporate Finance (Manager) to join a leading public listed company in Malaysia. This individual will be responsible for driving business and capital planning activities, ensuring compliance with the Regulatory Business Plan, and overseeing capital investments and special projects. The role will also involve developing financial models, supporting fundraising initiatives, and working with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and strategic initiatives.
Job Summary:
- Lead the company’s business and capital planning activities, including evaluating capital investments and special projects.
- Oversee fundraising activities and ensure compliance with the Regulatory Business Plan to implement cost savings, process improvements, and other strategic initiatives within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Management and Monitoring of Key Licences
- Oversee the application, renewal, and compliance of key licenses to ensure they are up-to-date, valid, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
2. Business Planning
- Take ownership of preparing, managing, and controlling the Regulatory Business Plan (BP).
- Regularly review and update the BP to reflect operational requirements and ensure submission to relevant authorities.
- Ensure compliance with KPIs and execute capital expenditure (CAPEX) programs according to necessary approvals.
- Support budgeting, cost control, financial control, and credit control to assist in decision-making.
3. Financial Modeling & Scenario Analysis
- Build and maintain dynamic financial models using historical data with long-term projections.
- Conduct scenario analysis based on macro and micro factors to assess risk and inform decision-making for business planning, fundraising, and capital investments.
4. Business Development & Special Projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate, plan, and execute special projects and/or new business opportunities, including financial evaluation, structuring, capital planning, and legal documentation.
5. Capital Planning and Fundraising
- Manage cash conservation, working capital, and long-term capital planning.
- Spearhead capital market fundraising, as necessary.
- Oversee Sukuk Murabahah Programme, including planning annual issuances, credit reviews, compliance with regulator/Sukukholders' requirements, and preparing relevant disclosures.
6. Performance Management & Monitoring
- Implement measures to track and monitor performance against financial and non-financial indicators.
- Analyze KPIs and propose necessary measures to achieve targets and improve company performance.
- Lead process improvement initiatives across functional teams.
7. Other Duties
- Perform additional assignments, projects, and duties as needed.
Compliance & Safety Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) and HSE policies.
- Manage key risks, hazards, and aspects associated with work activities.
- Support the execution of the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to ensure continuity of operations during crises.
- Ensure the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of information assets.
Person Specification:
Essential Qualifications:
- Degree in Corporate Finance, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, accounting, or a related field.
Key Competencies:
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, budgeting, financial reporting, and financial modelling.
- Familiarity with financial products and market dynamics.
